Join the Center for Latin America and Iberian Research for a virtual discussion on the current crisis in Venezuela and the aftermath of the U.S. military intervention, taking place on January 22, at 2 pm.

Panelists will examine the challenges related to governance, democracy, global and U.S. politics, and potential future scenarios.

David Smilde is the Charles A. and Leo Favrot Professor of Human Relations and Chair of the Department of Sociology at Tulan University and Senior Fellow at the Washington Office on Latin America (WOLA)

Leonarda Vivas teaches Comparative Political Economy at Lesley University. He was Director of Industry in the Development Ministry of Venezuela and ran the Latin American Program at the Carr Center for Human Rights at Harvard University.
