Distinguished Professor Antonio Cortijo Ocaña, a leading expert in Medieval, Mediterranean, Catalan, and Iberian studies, has been named an honorary faculty member at Spain’s University of Alicante. The award committee praised his decades of groundbreaking research, translations, and teaching as “superb contributions to the knowledge of the Mediterranean projection of the Crown of Aragon.”
Professor Silvia Bermúdez has been recognized by the Asociación de Estudios de Género y Sexualidades (Association for Gender and Sexuality Studies) for her pioneering work in Feminist, Cultural, and Migration studies in the Hispanic world. The association highlighted her international impact as a researcher, mentor, and advocate for gender equality in academia.
