Bio

Julia Ruth Brown is an MA/PhD candidate who received her B.A. in Spanish and Latin American Studies from Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri. Her travel experiences in Paraguay, Chile and Honduras, among others, as well as her studies helped foster her interest in the issues of representations of indigenous cultures and other subaltern groups in a multitude of Latin American contexts.

Research

Issues in representing indigenous cultures in Mexico, Chile, and the Andean region; intersectionality of Latin Americanist thought, cinema and literature.
