Ph.D. in Hispanic Literature (UC Santa Barbara)
Ana M. Requena-Johnson has a Ph.D. in Hispanic Literatures and Languages and a M.A. in Spanish, both from the University of California, Santa Barbara. Ana’s specialization is Golden Age and 20th Century Peninsular literature; her dissertation revisits the Homeric character of Circe in three important literary and historical periods in Spanish culture. Ana also works as a translator and interpreter for a local school district, leading to her recent interest in Translation Studies. Ana currently teaches at UCSB, and has previously taught Spanish at Allan Hancock College and Santa Barbara Business College.
