Iberian Linguistics

James is a graduate student and Teaching Assistant at UCSB. Originally from Santa Monica, California, James decided to switch from a career in engineering in order to devote himself to his true passion: the Spanish language and Hispanic culture.
Academically, James is interested in Mexican indigenous languages in relation to Spanish. He is also generally interested in the study of minority languages in the presence of languages of prestige, such as Spanish in California or Galician in Spain.
